A series of illustrated portraits inspired by strong women: a historical figure, a period series character, and a soul singer & musician. Each portrait feels like a window into their world, passion, history and work, telling us a story about what they represent.
Publishing
This speculative book cover was designed to draw immediate focus to her face, creating a compelling connection with the viewer Her direct gaze into the camera commands attention and exudes confidence, solidifying a strong and impactful position.
Meet the Character
Inspired by the tv series "La Legge di Lidia Poët" (The Law According to Lidia Poët) based on the true story of Italy's first female lawyer. She fights for the right to practice law when the Court prohibits her from practicing her profession during the 19th century in Turin.
Creative Process
This illustration series was created starting by analogue colored pencil sketches followed by a watercolor base layer. At this point the drawing was scanned, digitally painted and enhanced in Procreate.
